This is the social heart of Dripsey, where the road crosses the river into Coachford and where the two public houses, The Weigh Inn and the Lee Valley Inn, sit side by side.  It is a favourite stopping-place for travellers and locals alike and, like all good meeting places, there is much to be enjoyed at any time.  Regular musical and dancing evenings draw the locals from all around and the craic is mighty.  Kevin and Helen Feeney are the hosts at The Weigh Inn and John and Anne Sheehan look after the Lee Valley Inn.

On St Patrick's Day each year, the Cross is packed with visitors and locals who come to see the famous Shortest Parade which crosses the street from one public house to the other and is the scene of great fun and music throughout the day.
